Olympia (COR.145-PED.510)
Olympia (COR.145-PED.510) consists of a large metal surgical table on which rests a stiff human torso, and a lower plate with multiple reproductions of feet, hands, bottoms, breasts, eyes and hearts. This treatment station – that could seem to be part of a scientific laboratory, a mortuary, a hospital surgery room, a spare part depot, or a museum restoration centre – contains pieces that allude to two sculptures made by Arno Breker in 1936, ‘Die Siegerin’ (The Champion) and ‘Der Zehnkämpfer’ (The Decathlete), that still stand today in their original place in Berlin.

MARTA Herford
April 29th, 2023Das Marta Herford ist ein Museum für zeitgenössische Kunst. Das Gebäude wurde vom Architekten Frank Gehry entworfen und 2005 eröffnet. Der zur Gründung gefundene Name MARTA setzt sich aus M für „Museum“, ART für „Kunst“ und A für „Ambiente“ bzw. „Architektur“ zusammen.

HUMAN IS
April 16th, 2023„Human Is“ borrows its title from the eponymous short story by Philip K.Dick from 1955. This cross-generational group exhibition gathers works by artists that employ the aesthetic, narrative and conceptual properties of science-fiction as tools to mirror, push and re-evaluate humanist and capitalist value systems.
